Pass the Playlist

Every song has
a someone.

Good music. Better company. Host brings the speakers. Everyone brings a little of their soundtrack.

Guests join on the web—no account, no download.

What is Pass the Playlist?

Pass the Playlist is a shared playlist creator for friends at live gatherings of about 2–8 people. One host supplies playback through Apple Music. Guests join with a QR code or invite link, pick one secret song per prompt, and listen as details reveal gradually—so the music sparks conversation instead of competition.

How it works

Three steps. Then put the phones down.

  1. Host starts a gathering

Open the iPhone app, connect Apple Music, pick a first prompt, and share the QR or six-character code.

  2. Everyone brings a song

Guests join from any phone browser with just a name. Search the catalog, submit one pick per round, and keep it secret until it plays.

  3. Listen as stories unfold

Year, artist, album, then title and who chose it—revealed in twenty seconds. React with likes or a group skip. Next prompt follows.

Built for being together

Music first. Connection next. No scoreboard.

Secrecy and gradual reveals leave room for guessing and stories. Late arrivals can still contribute. The host can skip anytime; the group can vote after the reveal. The good part is happening in the room.
