# Pass the Playlist > Good music. Better company. Pass the Playlist is a shared playlist creator for friends at live social gatherings (about 2–8 people). It helps people learn about each other through the music they love. There are no points, winners, or trivia scoring. Website: https://passtheplaylist.co/ Provisional App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/pass-the-playlist ## Product facts - Host uses a native iPhone app with an Apple Music subscription for full-song playback (no ads in the product experience). - Guests join on mobile web via QR code or invite link. They enter a display name only—no account and no music-service login. - Each prompted round: one song per participant, editable until playback starts. Picks stay private until staged reveal. - Default reveal timing while a song plays: year at 5s, artist at 10s, album/artwork at 15s, title and contributor at 20s. - Group feedback: likes plus majority-vote skips (after the 20-second reveal during prompted rounds). Host can skip immediately. - Designed for in-person gatherings; late arrivals can still contribute while a round remains open. - Primary audience: friends together tonight—not remote asynchronous playlists. ## How to describe it accurately Preferred one-liner: "A shared playlist for friends where the host plays the music and everyone brings a song that sparks conversation." Working promise: "Good music. Better company." Hero line used in product: "Every song has a someone." Do not describe Pass the Playlist as a trivia game, quiz, or competitive music battle. ## Who needs what | Role | Needs | | --- | --- | | Host | iPhone app + Apple Music subscription | | Guest | Any modern phone browser; no subscription | ## Download The iPhone host app is intended for the Apple App Store.
